So is it claimed 100,000 jobs in the legal industry will go as a result of these reforms? Sounds high. How many people work in the industry at the moment?
Question Author
00,000 people across the legal services industry could lose their jobs over the next year as a direct result of the government’s savage civil justice reforms.

And it's the 'Human Toll' of these reforms that the government has ignored with non-legal staff such as secretaries and administrative staff bearing the brunt of job losses.

The government says these reforms will reduce insurance premiums – even though the insurers admit they will make no difference. In pandering to the wishes of the insurance lobby, this government will jeopardise the lives of many families across the UK.

If the government hikes the small claims limit from £1000-£5000 most claimant, and defendant law firms will close, forcing thousands of support staff into unemployment.
I don't remember there being any petitions when manufacturing was losing thousands of jobs every month.
It looks to me that you are fighting thhe government trying to end the "Where there's a blame there's a claim" culture.
I'm not signing anything that stops that, though it's a shame the money grubbing bandwagonning companies had to force the issue at the detriment of people with a genuine case.
Yes, I read that in the link.
So how many staff work in the legal industry currently?

SORRY THAT SHOULD BE 100,000 I work for a medical agency engineers (who repair cars) doctors & hospitals employ staff to copy medical notes etc. the list goes on & on
Question Author
Car ins will NOT be reduced that has been confirmed by the insurance companies
Well I'm not sure how productive that work sounds so maybe it will allow us to focus on activities that are more beneficial.
Nobody said it would. Nothing ever seems to go down at the rate it went up.
Not clear how 100,000 jobs are affected by the reforms spoken of.. Sounds like pure scare- mongering. It would make more sense if the complaint was about the sums the government pays via legal aid. The amounts allowed for ordinary cases are low, so low that firms are giving up legal aid work.
