I want to book a holiday but will be travelling alone on this occasion. Can anyone advise any good travel agents/companies with good reputation & reasonably priced? Can you also recommend anywhere to go as a lone holidaymaker... I want a safe/secure hotel with pool, somewhere sunny and want to be able to have a look around local points of interest. Not interested in night clubs/busy bars etc... I'm more into a relaxing holiday, nice restaurant, hotel entertainment would be nice.
Looking to travel end July/beginning Aug.
Thanks ..

Have you googled solo holidays? You could try a spa/holistic holiday. There tend to be a lot of single people there.
My friend goes with Solo's and really rates them. She's had summer holidays and ski-ing ones as well.
I used to travel along Mustanglady, although it's usually easier for men. I went to many of the former Iron Curtain countries by myself (although I was always followed and had guides!)

One feature of travelling alone is that you usually have to pay a single supplement for a single room. In this day and age I would recommend anywhere in Europe, especially western Europe. If you want to visit cultural sights then eastern Europe is very interesting as are cities in Spain, Portugal, Italy etc. North Africa is a bit harder to a woman by herself - not just for the cultural difference but the continual pressure to buy is tough and you have to look them in the face and be firm but always polite.
I also poked around the back streets of places like Istanbul, Boston, San Fransisco as I like taking photos of people but I wouldn't recommend you do that. It was chancy for me.

The world's your oyster at the end of the day. Maybe a general rule would be to select a destination and then carefully research how welcoming it would be for a lone female traveller. If you aren't sure or hear some unhappy reviews then look for somewhere else.

Good luck and have a great time!
yes, you could google "no single supplement" and see what holidays it throws up.

jno; thank you will try that too.
Just You holidays are supposed to be very good as well, think they are part of the Travelsphere group.
Have you heard of H.F. Holidays, MustangLady? (UK and abroad.)

They have a very comprehensive web site and plenty of holidays to attract you.

They are not specifically for lone travellers but the set up and ethos are perfect for people on their own....house party set up and group walking and excursions, also informal house party type activities in the evenings.....all optional of course.

There are also specials for leisure pursuits, such as bridge, dancing, painting, opera, golf, etc etc.

I have been going on them for 35 years and can thoroughly recommend.
