I today read, with great sadness, that Steve Whatley has died at the age of 47. Steve was one of the faces of the shopping channel QVC and made numerous appearances of 'This Morning', amongest other things.

Steve died in early November, but I've only just found out.

Does anyone know what he died off?? I'm still shocked.

Very sad news - he always seemed an amiable man who didn't take himself too seriously. Quite unlike many of today's 'presenters'. He will be missed.

Goodness. He was the one who always came on in the glittery jackets and things wasn't he? 47 is no age at all. Has he been ill or was it just sudden?

I heard about this just after he died, the website announcing said he had a very sudden but peaceful death (I'm not sure if these two go together in this context) but it still hasn't been disclosed what he died of, although there were rumours flying around in his home town of cancer that went undiagnosed or misdiagnosed
No way, the tan man. I used to love his jewellry show when i was teenager, im the early ninties.
A shame to die so young. I never knew until you just posted this.
It is quite sad, but it has been known since it happened. I first saw the news on shoppingtelly.com in November.

Todays papers state that it was suicide due to the breakdown of his 12 year marriage . Very sad news and he will be missed by all who watched him over the years.

It's ok. I've now read it at 'The Times online'. Still very sad.
