Problem With Ab Today (Sunday)

Is anyone having this problem with the site today - very very slow and every so often a pop up flashes on the screen so fast i can't make out what it is but looks like a white box with writing on it -I've done a full scan and nothing has come up -but the site is so slow its taking around 30 seconds to post a reply -other sites are working normally. I am using an ad blocker -could this be the problem?

Yes it is slow, but it's cold and miserable and it's Sunday so the net is overloaded.

thanks for your replies -I'm on Chrome with ad blocker -it could be local overload if that's possible - I'm up in the sticks and most people are snowed in so probably on line -but that box thing that kept flashing up - ??
