I work a couple of days a month for the Consumer Price Index and it is very illuminating. Obviously, if vegetables are flown in from a foreign country the price will increase. Doritos are expensive anyway but rather than put the price up they reduce the amount of goods in package. Another ruse is to increase the price of goods for a week and then reduce it the next week as a sale item. My advise is to only buy local food from local producers which is not always more expensive. Obviously, you can't do this with Doritos. Watch out for furniture shops as well as everything is in a sale except in November when they up the prices to appear as though they have reduced items for a sale just before christmas.
