Perhaps the key word in your post, Cupid04, is 'under'. Heat rises and (as I've just checked by placing my hand underneath the oil-filled radiator next to my desk) it's not as warm below the radiator as above it. As long as Kitty doesn't actually come into contact with the metal he should be fine.

My cats used to lay across the windowsill with their tails resting on the radiator and not burn them. Don't know how they managed to to burn themselves. I got them a radiator bed which Blue is constantly in.

We had a cat that used to sleep on the arm of the sofa with her nose against the radiator. She was a sandwich short of a picnic so maybe it was a case of no sense no feeling.

none of my cats liked the radiator bed for some reason, I did introduce it to them when they were kitties , it lay empty day after day after day until I eventually just packed it up and put it away.
