I mean really ! Perhaps we ought to give them 4 weeks statutory holiday every year, pensions on retirement, winter fuel allowances, etc.
Is this an attempt at humour, or do you really mean what you say, Canary?

I have signed it, Sandy.
But, I would just like to say that any farmer (dairy or otherwise) worth his/her salt treats their livestock well and with the care and consideration that most people would hope for farm animals.
It makes no financial sense for farmers not to provide their livestock with proper housing, feed, water, vet care and grazing. A happy. well cared for animal is a profitable one.
We only really hear about the odd person mistreating their livestock through laziness, ignorance or other reasons.
Please, let's not think that ALL farmers need this kind of legislation. The vast majority treat their livestock well purely by instinct, common sense and hard work.
Maybe we need to show our hard-working FARMERS some love too?
