Photo editing suites for windows '98

Does anyone know of a photo editing suite for a windows '98 system please. I've done a bit of searching but found nothing I feel compfortable with.

Have you tried Photoplus? You can V6 for free (I think the current version is 10): http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/PhotoPlus/default.asp

Thanks. To be honest I've looked at the Gimp thing so many times and I am at a loss to know which one to proceed with, or which is applicable. Any suggestions ?.

and if you dont have the GTK (if you're unsure, get it), you'll need that too. you need to install this GTK thing before the gimp program itself.

Well, I've downloaded both your recommendations. Sadly I have to go out soon and won't be able to test it until later, however I'm quite excited now at long last I have the Gimp, something that I've been interested in for ages but was put off by all the options. Will get back to you and thanks.

Fo3nix, although I'm back, it's only for another short burst and as you realise, you need to spend time on such sites. What I did do was to lift off one pic just to get the feel of the thing, and noticed there was a much smaller pic within the original. Am I to assume that if I make introductions to the original, by way of colour change etc, it is on THAT small pic that it shows up, by way of a preview?

I wonder, is there any way I can PM you so that I don't fill the thread with what some people might say is boring stuff.

well, I don't personally use gimp, so can't help you with the operation of it.
