AMI and Award BIOS, and some others as well now use this. Older BIOSes can use any of strange key combinations, including Esc, F1, F2, F10, Ctrl-Esc, Alt-Esc, Ctrl-Alt-Esc, Ctrl-Alt-Enter, Ins or others. If one of the above key sequences does not enter the bios setup program, you will have to seek out a manual for your system
You could try pressing Delete repeatedly and rapidly as the system starts up. If you only press it once or twice it often doesn't get recognised. I think it's something to do with today's processors making the system shift through its startup routines so swiftly that you can easily miss the window of opportunity to press Del and have it acted upon. Just keep tapping on it during startup. Might work...
You may need to be quicker, especially with a fast booting PC. Doesn't it say on the screen as it boots up (sometimes the monitor doesn't warm up fast enough to display all the messages).
Del or F1 should work in about 80% of cases. Press them alternately and repetitively from the moment you hit the "on" button.
