Gold Ring

My wife's gold ring is hallmarked as Birmingham and the year 1973. However, I cannot find the makers mark of S&D. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks 'Zacs-Master & Iluvspikey. S&D is definitley the makers mark. Having tried all the possible avenues with assay offices and other sites I am beginning to thinks it may have been made in mainland Europe, bought across here and assayed in Birmingham! Your help much appreciated though
