I have some garlic snails in the fridge, and dont know whether to try one. My new years resolution was to try new things! Will it make me gag?

I Had snails in spain, I think the important bit is not to eat the last bit that comes out of the shell. tasted a bit like squid (no garlic on mine!)
Try everthing in life once, apart from Morris dancing, incest and escargots
Personally I think escargots are a bit of a non-event. I'm not squeamish about them, and I've had them several times, but quite honestly they don't taste of anything much other than the garlic butter or whatever they're in. Now the little caracoles with stripy shells and the dark brown bodies that you get in Spain are very nice - an earthy, almost mushroomy taste, and absolutely wonderful in a rabbit stew (a Catalonian speciality, apparently).
Well Cantwait2no... Have you tried them yet and if so, what did you think? At work today or still ill?

I have eaten snails in garlic. There was no flavour other than the garlic just a bit chewy.

Try them you may like them, I hope you have snail tounges and forks in order to get them out of the shells.

i like them, a bit non descript but nice in garlic
