It's just a quickie, I can't stop..

Friend has popped round with a bottle of wine and some choc. Choc is Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter (my favorite) :-)

I'm sure I heard recently Kit Kats had been recalled? Just had a look online and it said they were recalled 4 days ago, so I'm confused?

My thinking is that they probably would have had a new delivery since they recalled them. What do you reckon?

TIA.

Check the b/b dates. The 48g bars affected have b/b dates from 09/13 to 02/14: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21913847 Remember that only 7 bars (out of several million) have been found with pieces of plastic in them, so the odds of yours having similar foreign bodies are probably very low.

Just watch out for plastic bits!

So when a company recalls something, does it not mean they're taken back off the shelves, or is it up to the customer?

If you look at the related questions underneath this one, there is mention of Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter. Check the use by date. It is up to the consumer when something is recalled although the product will be removed from the shelves as well. If it was me, I would probably just eat it and hope for the best.

Thanks. The bb date was 02/14 so I decided against it. Friend ate them both... still alive. Lot

off to bed now.

Cheers. X
Was in my local Home Bargains yesterday. Manager hadn't heard of any recall. Zoomed off to check with his head office.

Well, just to let you know, friend took the Kit Kats back to the offending shop (Co-Op) and they said they had "no idea" they'd be recalled...

Muppets.

Nice to hear about Nestlé f*cking up :-) It's about time they had some more negative publicity IMO.
(Not nice that it could have endangered the public though).

Funny you should say that, AP. When I told my Mum, she pretty much said the same thing.
She refuses to eat anything by Nestle.

I hope not. In Morrisons last week they were selling chunky packs of 8 x 4 finger for just £1 although it said £1.59 on the shleft ticket ,they went through as £1. I bought 2 packs, to sell at a stall Im holding shortly. Hefty profit at 50p each
Question Author
Well the Co-Op didn't seem to know anything about it either.
The barcodes fell within the ones that were recalled.
