We have close friends who were given as a Christmas gift of theatre tickets to a character comedy show which having watched a TV version, they did not find funny.
What would be an original 'get out of' excuse for not showing up?
All suggestions are greatly appreciated in anticipation....
Are the donors supposed to be going with them? That could be difficult. If not, could they invent some family event they have to go to that evening (with many apologies of course)?
If not - and if not upsetting the donors is important - then it might be best to grit their teeth and go....
Surely it's be better to be honest, explain that they don't like the show and then give the donors the option of doing something else with the tickets - selling them, inviting someone else etc.
karemac60 -That does sound like a good honest thing to do, but there is underlying friction between two related parties with several unrelated issues including personality clashes....
