What is the name of this 70s/80s sci fi horror film? Nude humanoid aliens invade, people turn into zombies, epidemic, world ends, aaaaagh!!

I was younger when I saw this film on tv, so my memory is a bit sketchy! Made in the 70s/80s, I think it was an american film but it may have beenbritish. I remember there being an epidemic as aliens possess people who eventually turn into '28 Days Later' style zombies. Being 13 at the time, i vividly remember one of the aliens to be a beautiful women wandering around in the nude in a park, who seduces some soon to be dead fool. Infected people go crazy failry quickly, and i can remember one scene where a zombie thats been caught explodes to dust as he collides with the prison bars, whilst attempting to lunge at the government officials looking on. By the end of the movie it's all got very apocalyptic, and there are scenes of mayhem in the city streets as everyone gets infected, mobs of zombies etc, and in a manga style twist, im sure i can recall a big thick supernaturally bright electrically charged beam of light piercing the sky and swirling the clouds. Help me remember this film someone, please!!

Bits of it sounded like Invasion of the BodySnatchers. But then, other bits didn't. It starred Donnald Sutherland (Keifers Dad) and ended with him walking down a street and you think hes safe and just blending in. Then a woman he knew came up to him and was talking to him and he turns to face her, points and lets out this high pitched screech (the signal for all the other aliens to attack her). A great film, but I'm not sure it's what your thinking of.

Thanks Troy! Now i can finally get some sleep! And yes Reize, Lifeforce did have a similar feel to it as i recall - Lots of people knocked the Bodysnatchers remake but I loved the dark apocalyptic atmosphere and intense feeling of isolation.
