Are you happy with your lot? Is your cup half full or half empty? Are you bitter, jealous or content?

I think this sums up my philosophy of life. 'They give birth astride of a grave, the light gleams an instant, then it's night once more.'

Not exactly content at the moment. I'm definitely not where I would want to be at this time in life. I am a bit of a pessimist by nature (only when it comes to myself) but I'm trying to change that. I do have to keep reminding myself that I'm not even in my 30's yet. There's plenty more time to be a miserable cow!
Never jealous or bitter and my cup is always half full. Not the result of an easy early life.....I think I had realised in my early teens that I was on my own and responsible for making my life as good as I could.
Now? Content is a strange word.....makes me feel....Sit back Gness...this'll do.....And I always want things to be even better for everyone. So I'm not discontented, just hell bent on getting the most out of life I guess. And very conscious of not wasting any of my time here.
Happy? Oh yes...very. Especially as I have a delivery of beautiful wool arriving any time now. x
I'm very competative and self disciplined and have a very intense focus but I am a happy person. I always try to remain kind and positive no matter what is happening partly becuase it makes me feel better as it's my natural personality and partly because other people find positivity a more attractive trait than bitter miserableness, so it makes me more likely to achieve my goals. It's nice to be nice.
I am a no.1 optimist! The jug is always full of cream. I'm very content. I'm always striving to do better.
Shari...a well written post in which i agree with almost all you have said BUT, with your permission:

\\\\so it makes me more likely to achieve my goals. It's nice to be nice. \\\\

Many people in competitive aspects of life regard "nice" as a possible weakness and if one is to succeed then one has to inject a soupcon, a discreet amount of "cutting edge" at the right place at the right time.
Try not to be regards as ..."too nice."

Thanks for the advice Sqad. I do try to be nice for a few reasons and I do understand what you are saying, but with acting Directors usually want actors they can direct and who won't be high maintenance. It doesn't matter how good you are if you are totally self obsessed pain in the bum you won't work much in serious theatre and film, especially if you are like that before you are well established. I will certainly bear in mind what you say though as I am also interested in Directing and that can take a lot more hard line cut and thrust to achieve in. Thanks xx
Shari...LOL....;-)
It's being so cheerful as keeps you going, Sandy :+)
you make your own future - do better each time and don't stint on the prep work

things don't matter, people do, so treat others as you want to be treated
Extremely happy and fulfilled at the mo .......
