Just seen this on the news.

Do you remember your first mobile phone? What was it and when did you get it? If you've ever owned one that is.

About 1991 - analogue phone the size of a brick - provided by my employer so that they could call me ... if I dared to make a call to anyone except them there was a serious inquest over the monthly bill.
I had the Motorola V2288 phone...

I loved it because it had an FM radio built-in, so I could listen to the footy commentary on a saturday afternoon. Can't remember if I bought it from QVC or somewhere on the high street, but would have been late 90's.

I then had the Nokia 3310, Nokia 8310, Sony Ericsson W810i and the Nokia N8 (My current phone).
I had a brick when we started our own business, as there was only the two of us. When I used to pick my then, 7 year old up from school, I would pray nobody would ring me. I would have died of embarrasment.

I can't remember its name.
The prototype handheld phone used by Dr. Cooper weighed 1.1 kg and measured 22.86 cm long, 12.7 cm deep and 4.44 cm wide.. The prototype offered a talk time of just 30 minutes and took 10 hours to re-charge.
I had one of these as my first 'personal' phone in about 1994

Hmmmm.....why can I never put a google image on a post without all the surrounding crap?!
Click on the pic you want, tiggs, and it should alter the page to say "View original image." If you do that and then the right-clicky bit, that should help.
I wanted that one because of it's use in The Matrix, vodka. Such a cool phone.

Just tried Stephen but it still comes up with the pic in the middle and the website in the background. I don't know where I'm going wrong.
My first one was an Ericsson (before they went Sony) .
1998/9 I think, a bit chunky Nokia - I remember me and friends having pagers to track each other down before that!
