They don;t because men are sexually stimulated visuallly far more than women. Prehistoric man would see a potential mate and asssess the size of her breasts and hips - in order that she can birth, and feed his offspring. Women see men as providers and nesting companions - so chest and arms - strength - are important, genetalia less so.
These instincts are still with us because, sophisticated as we are as a species, our primeval mating instincts still impact on our behaviour, so the short answer is, more men will look at a naked, or partly clothed woman, than women will look at a naked or partly clothed man.
I assume english isn't your first language, but i think you mean 'don't women like to see naked men?'
Is that right?
if so, then yes they do like to see naked men - its just that the movie industry is still a very male industry and they use women to sell films - because thats how it has been for years, though many have accepted the fact that the world has two species of human and both are essentially the same when it comes to sex.
in the street, women wear skimpy clothes because they can and they are available in shops - name one item of skimpy clothing aimed at men in the shops?
many men still think women exist solely for their viewing pleasure, and only show an interest in girls who are clad accordingly, and unfortunately many women go along with this, perpetuating the belief that women are just eye candy and pieces of meat to be 'owned' by men.
I agree with Andy, men are visually stimulated far more than women are, and for the reasons he gave. Yes, times have moved on and I understand we now have Playgirl as well as Playboy, but I dont know the name of another single womens magazine of that kind. I assume therefore there isnt really that much demand for it. If a female-run film company made films featuring lots of male nakedness (or near nakedness) I really dont think they would be very successful either. Of course, I may be wrong, perhaps well never know.
Joko, you state that unfortunately, many women go along with this [dressing skimpily to please men]. I dont see the harm in this at all, and Im saying that from the point of view of a person who thinks a beautiful girl or woman brightens the world up a bit just by her very presence, and more so if shes dressed nicely (and not necessarily skimpily). I imagine lots of women think so too, otherwise they wouldnt dress that way, would they? And no, I dont think they dress that way because they can, and they [the clothes] are available in shops". Why do you think theyre available? Because theres a demand for them! Thats the way of the world, supply and demand. Women like to look good, thats perfectly natural. And men like to let them! :o)
As for men dressing in skimpy clothing, well, Beckhams had a go at it, with his sarong and whatever else, but lets face it, most men would not only not want to wear a sarong, but would look completely ridiculous in one. Sorry, but were just not made that way we dont do cute!
And I can assure you that men dont all regard women solely as eye candy or pieces of meat. Of course, some men do have a low opinion of women, as a gender, but most (I think) simply regard them as people, first and foremost, though definitely cuter and prettier people than us blokes!
Joko, isnt it great that we can have a civilised discussion and, at times, even agree to differ, without stooping to the level of the likes of Davidicus! Now that really would be sad, dont you think?
As for the question, as you say we dont need to get into a big debate on it and wed probably never agree over certain things, but I think its wonderful to have a forum where we can share our views.
Incidentally, I made a typo in the last paragraph of my answer: I meant to say --not all men regard, and not -men dont all regard which, though similar, has quite a different meaning. Im quite in agreement with you on this point, we just drifted apart there for a moment due to my poor wording. Of course not all men think that way, I wouldnt suggest otherwise, and nor was I saying that youd said that (God, it gets complicated!). Neither did I mean to belittle women in any way with my answer, although I was aware you might take it that way.
As you say, there will always be things that men and women will probably never entirely agree on, so lets just accept that as a given (and whos to say whos right or wrong?)
Still friends, er cupcake?! :-)
[scuttles away in case shes angry]
What a K-rappy (?) answer from a "professional" website-question-and-answer-forum-answerer like davidicus!
Clearly we could learn a lot from this master of question answering - him being a pro.
Surely, with all your 'qualifications' you could have given a better reply than that!
Still friend snookums....;o)
