What do you mean by "culture"? Because it will affect the answer. Most people will agree that females (of all ages) read much more than men, particularly fiction. I'd say that the same goes for drama. But on the other hand, I would tend to say that more men than women enjoy the non-verbal arts (e.g. visual art and music).
For instance, when I was at school (which was mixed and had roughly equal numbers of boys and girls) all our art teachers were male; English (and other language) teachers were (mostly) female. In the sixth form we had a music appreciation class where each week we listened to and analysed various bits of classical music. Attendance was voluntary as it was held in a 'free' period. Boys outnumbered girls about three to one.
