I haven't seen the ad so I can't be sure, but it sounds like Sweet Soul Music by Arthur Conley, a hit in 1967.
Yes, it's a rather poor rendition of a not-very-good hit from 1967, "Sweet Soul Music" by Arthur Conley, which is basically a list of soul musicians who are each about a trillion times more talented than Arthur Conley himself. The record was produced by Otis Redding, who really should have known better.
