How To Obtain Inquest Record And Verdict.

Greetings each.
I have recently developed a fascination with the suicide of one particular individual who took his own life in Kensington SW8 in the month of April 1974.
Can anyone please tell me how to obtain details of the inquest proceedings.
I accept that whatever local newspaper covers that area may, or may not have published a report but that would be a last resort for me.
Is there a central register anywhere which can be consulted?
