I have a few spare rolls of wallpaper, what I was wondering is this, could I paste the pattern side and use it as lining paper, I wont be using these rolls again and it seems a waste to throw them away.

I gave surplus rolls to nursery school..they hang it lengthwise round the room for kids to draw or paint on...
I mean sideways...
It may depend on the surface of the wallpaper Craftypig. Try a small area first?
You will know if it's sound enough to paper over.
No, don't worry about the pattern, paste it up the usual way then paste your chosen paper over it. One flat that we decorated had NINE layers of paper done that way!
can't you make accessories like... errrr.... photo frames? coasters?

or just put them in the loft, like I do :o)
You can use them as drawer liners in the bedroom drawers to match the wallpaper !
You could sell them on ebay or offer them on your local freecycle.
Give 'em to your local charity shop, someone will use them.
