Mainly because there seem to be a few assumptions in the question. The individual may not be safe beforehand. They may not have a supportive family or not get on with them if they do. They may not be entering a world of danger. They are not selling their bodies, they keep them, they merely show them off. It's difficult to form an answer when there is so much ambiguity.
When a young girl no more then 20 starts to think the only way to earn money is go on to these calls stations and sometimes can fall into wrong hands. Now both you and I know these girls are exploited by there employers for little as £20 or so..
I get bit worried when I see someone I know doing this.

You really need to be a little bit more specific. The 'girls' on the call stations do not take clothes off and sell themselves.
Stripping in most establishments is safer than crossing the street.
Prostitution is more like the person taking advantage of their 'customer' This is not always safe for the person that is not attractive enough to join a reputable organisation, unfair, I know, but life is not fair. There is always a choice.
