Why would anyone want or need a dishwasher. I hate housework but can't believe anyone could survive without one of these machines, which take up a lot of kitchen space.................
I have 2 dishwashers, one on the end of my right arm and one on the left. They've worked perfectly for 50+ years and don't need emptying, they also dry and put away!
If you have a very large family they are very useful, otherwise you end up washing up all day.
Funny thing is though craft we never had one for years .We used to go to work ,come home, cook ,eat and then wash up for four people .
As soon as we retired we had a new kitchen put in with a dishwasher and I thought I was in seventh heaven :)
To be honest we do wash up in the sink sometimes as it's just the two of us now but it is handy when the sprogs come and the kitchen looks like a battlefield .
I never had a dishwasher until I moved two years ago to a house with one fitted. Wouldn't be without it now....dinners...parties....and the kitchen is always tidy.....I love it.
Sorry, don't get it..............
I'm intrigued by this question. I don't have a dishwasher and never intend to have one either, but I am itching to know what there is to hate about emptying them ?
I didn't get it until I got one, been without it for 2 1/2 years and just about over it now (and mine was only about 6 months old when it got mothballed).
People let them get so full that it's a half hour job to empty them Canary
craft1948, do you have a microwave? Now that's something I wouldn't rush to replace, except the clock keeps good time. I have a dishwasher but tend to run it only every couple of weeks. A teaching colleague many years ago silenced a staff room when, during a lull in the conversation, was heard to say I don't mind putting it in but I hate taking it out.
As for the posts about vibrators etc, I used to have a dishwasher that shook beautifully, it was a pleasure to lean against it!
Thanks mojo.
Canary...I have no idea and it makes no sense...I just don't like emptying it. A bit like putting away the shopping.
I never wanted a dishwasher......would never have had one had it not been in the house.....now if it broke I would replace immediately.
And it's a five minute job to empty...despite running when it's full.
