Appliance Insurance.
I've just ordered a new Gas Cooker on-line cost £565, I've had e-mails and a phone call from the company trying to sell me a Product Protection Plan with Domestic and General at £6.99 per month for as long as I want the "protection "to last.
My first reaction is to say I'll put the monthly fee aside for any repairs and doesn't the Manufacturers 12 month warranty (Cannon) cover most things , they are well known and at the price of the cooker it should be reliable.
Now having paroxisms of indecision,Has anyone any advice or guidence to offer. Thanks

Which magazine say these companies who offer this sort of insurance make a huge profit because so few people claim. Also remember you get 1 or 2 year cover with any new product anyway. And 2 years insurance is going to cost you about £168

Agree with Rocky. I was with D&G and my fridge freezer packed up. The model was a discontinued item. D&G wouldn't supply a replacement with exactly the same specificalions, saying the only models available would cost more than I'd originally paid for my faulty one. I had to settle for one with lower specifications which cost D&G less than I'd paid out to them over the years. Now, any time I buy an appliance and get hassled by D&G, I ignore them.
