I would hardly call a 14 year old a 'naughty child'. Maybe asking him why he felt the need to come downstairs and drink a whole bottle of wine might be better than punishing him? Then perhaps offer him a small glass once in awhile with a meal so it does not become 'forbidden fruit'.
