Some poster is advising another op to do the above - says I to myself - I maybe could do that. But got afraid cos the cleaner said this cleaner will remove files for good. What I want to know does the cleaner know files to get rid off automatically. so i cancelled. Thanks for any advice.

If it's Ccleaner then it's ok to use. It "knows"what to remove. The only issue you might have is if you have logins for different sites remembered by your computer. It cleans those as well so when you come on to say Answerbank you will have to log on again the first time.

chrisgel that was good to know cos I do have a lot logins but have them on paper but some of them have been updated and are all over the place. Will start on the paperwork. thanks

I wouldn't do it. Windows has its own cleanup processes and I would stick to those if you are worried.

Glary Utilities is a good alternative to Ccleaner.
used cc for years.excellent prog never had any problems with it whatsoever
