Repeat Of Wild At Heart

I didn't watch the series when it was first on but it's just been repeated on ITV3 and I am confused. On Monday Danny had a partner called Ed Lynch (ex-wife Fiona had joined him) and they were in partnership. Danny's wife Alice was in UK following birth of baby and refusing to return to Leopard's Den and in the end Danny opted to stay in Africa. So far, so understood, but on Tuesday comes the last ever episode - Alice back, baby now at least 8 months old, no sign of Ed or Fiona, Mara rented to poachers, Dup dying etc. Did ITV3 miss out a few episodes and if so does anyone remember what happened in between the two I've described?

The Monday repeat episode was the end of Series 7, with the intention that the storylines would continue through Series 8. However, a few weeks after broadcast ITV announced the cancellation of the show but they did commission a feature-length final episode (repeated Tuesday) to give the drama a 'proper' ending.
