YOu could email a copy to the vets too, they often have Lost Pet signs - Cats Protection League too, that's where I reported Rover being missing.

You don't think it could be the one that was sitting on the blue tit's nest box do you? Maybe it fell off.

Do you live next door, Zacs?
Question Author
Sorry, boxy. I know you love your cats.
This is it. Do you think anyone will recognise it?

I'm NOT looking!
Well that's not very helpful.
Question Author
Sorry!
OMG that's gross. Poor thing.
Question Author
Oh, Prudie. You shouldn't have looked.
Well it was Zacs, I thought he might be joking!
Zacs, if I were you I'd make a notice instead - " found dead, large tabby cat " - don't post that pic, it would distress the owners. If you take the body to the vet, the vet won't let them see it unless they insist.
Ok ta for the advice.
Back to nicer things, I have been clipping off the frostbitten new shoots from my clematis plant. There are lots of buds on it but they have usually flowered by now. My gardener is due to come next week, so I'm leaving quite a bit of it for him to do.
Got to get spraying tomorrow, otherwise I'll have what seems like two acres of nettles, like last year ! What is it about nettles? There are none in the twenty acres of field next to the garden. They just like being annoying. And when there are none, you turn your back, a shower of rain and two hours' sun comes, and they're about a foot high when you look again , and they never stop.
I've got a pet nettle in the border between two bushes - no matter was I do, it grows 4 foot high again each year. I let it flower for the butterflies, then yank it up again.
Question Author
I have a nettle patch which I leave for the butterflies. I keep an eye on it though. It does tend to expand. (Boxy, did you see my post about the second osprey egg at The Loch of the Lowes.?)
