sparkles62 iam an englishman living in wales ,alot of english don't celebrate st george's day is because we get accused of being racist by such groups like the uaf but u being welsh can celebrate st david day.
Woohoo! My lovely Anglo-Italian-Irish OH has just sent me (his Franco-Irish-English partner) a single red rose with a note saying 'Happy St George's Day'. How about that for St G being inclusive!
I’v just driven 10mils from my house to here (York city centre) I haven’t seen one saint George flag on the way. Not much patriotism here then.
we seem to have a mixed bag up here, you are more likely to be celebrating Eid or other religious doings than St George's day.
Lets call a truce brenden...I meant no offence. I was genuinely not sure of what people do on St Georges Day, having lived here in Wales since I was 14 years old. On St David's Day the primary school kids go to school in Welsh national costume and they all look rather cute. There are lots of daffodils about, pretty much everywhere, and restaurants and cafes serve lovely bowls of Cawl.

In my experience St Patrick's Day was when my Dad and most of his sons went out to celebrate with copious amounts of the Black Stuff. The events of later on that day remain a trifle hazy, for some reason or other.

But I can't recall anything about the 23rd April. It would seem according to the papers today that some Morris Dancing is involved, although I have never been able to take men dancing with hankies at all seriously. I expect that some extra quantities of Real Ale will be consumed later on today, as all that dancing looks pretty thirsty work to me !

As long as people have some fun, than its all OK with me.
Its the bells on their legs that gets me mikey. I took no offence mikey.
Happy St Georges Day to one and all, I did try Morris dancing once but I fell of the bonnet.
Hope it was a minor accident baza.
my mini skirt suffered badly
Now that is a major disaster baza.
I also tried tap dancing but fell in the sink, boom boom.
I find proper Morris dancers very, very sexy....numptys who dance on cars..
...well I ask you!!!!
Get out and enjoy yourselves....x
It's a great chance to celebrate Shakespeare's birthday too. Coincidentally he also died on April 23.
Wishing you all a happy St Georges Day.

... and cheers Bill for thou literature.
Pint of good old Cornish cider slid down my throat to celebrate the 23rd. St Georges, Shakespeare Day and my mother's birthday.
and another one for you, gness
