You don't say which model of amplifier you are using. Speakers present a resistance to an amp output, usually only around 4 to 8 ohms. Also known as the impedence of the speaker. If you start adding more speakers to the same output terminals you actually alter the load on the amp output which can in the long term damage the the output stages of the amplifier. The...

It would depend on how much power the speaker output was capable of supplying. If it has bags of power to spare I guess you could wire up a further pair in parallel, but I'd suspect you risk blowing up the output.
My advice would be to buy a better bathroom radio instead. Saves the hassle and the risk. Not to mention leads along the landing to trip over/pull the amp or radio off the shelf with.

1.Join wires to required lengths with audio wire.
2.Cover joins with wiring tape.
3.Test speakers then install.
4.Tuck wires away safely, under carpets etc.

The volumes of sound I would imagine you're using would not be much, but I would consider the use of isolating transformers. Go into your nearest Maplins and tell them what you want to do. It would be worth it if it saves your AV setup. Good luck.
