The award goes to Mr O's cousin who visited us for the first time yesterday. His wife has persuaded him they need a long overdue holiday. He took me on one side and asked in all seriousness if he would need a travel plug if they go to Bournemouth!

So would a Photocard driving licence not suffice Barmaid?
It contains more detail than a passport too!

A HM Forces ID Card was more than acceptable to the Special Branch officers when I used to fly to Belfast in the 1980's.
I use my Driving Licence to travel from East Midlands to Edinburgh
You could probably do a photocard dl Chilldoubt - I think it depends on the airline. I certainly remember trying to fly from London to Manchester a few years back and being told a passport was needed and that a photocard DL wouldn't suffice.

So I'd be cynical in thinking that the only ID that would be acceptable for child passengers travelling with parents/relatives by air within the UK would be a (roughly £48) passport that required changing every 5 years?
