I'm afraid we can go around in circles asking questions and firing answers about religion all day long. Bottom line is that religion is humanities way of dealing with a spiritual awareness in a material way, what comes after that can be convoluted and skewed because we don't understand why we do what we do were religion is concerned.
We are always going to get those who believe what they are doing, they are doing for the good of there religion, whatever that may be...but sometimes that too becomes evil intent, hence fanatics and molesters.
Better just leaving the hard work to God and live your life your own way, we don't need to be told that we have to stick to religious values for the sake of sticking to religious values and playing "follow my leader".

They are obliged to follow the Data Protection Act. Which forbids publishing data.

People on that Register may not have been convicted and the allegations unsubstantiated so the information may be libellous.

In practice, it is unlikely the JWs would obstruct a criminal investigation.

The victim is well down their list of priorites and if the criminal is one of their flock , the victim has no chance unless they go direct to the police and even then the theists will ensure the criminal has the best defence money can buy . We saw that in Ireland when the accused clerics had the best barristers the church could find whilst the victims had legal aid lawyers.

it doesn't surprise me in the least. i bet that most organised religions are like it. stupid old men with no qualification to make such decisions wreak havoc upon victims lives. the panorama programme on sharia law courts was no better.

I dislike the JWs, its a weird little cult. I think all organised religion is outdated. I am not surprised that they cover up child abuse, it would damage there already unlikeable reputation. My friend was raised a JW and his dad was an elder, he was a "good man" even after he threw his son through a greenhouse. They are introverted and keep to their own, I can see why lonely people get roped into it because they provide an sense of community.

I'm not up for Islam bashing ..... but.... in western countries its illegal for children to be married and to have sex with them and culturally we are raised with this belief. The same cannot be said for Islamic countries. Child abuse happens in all religions, it's not a white mans disease.
