Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Much like last week, a perfectly fine puzzle with no end game to speak of; what to do was readily apparent so it was just a matter of identifying the nature of each clue. Still, many good clues that cleverly disguised their "type", e.g. 4D.

Yes I agree - I was expecting the remaining 12 would be topped and tailed - would have been a nice touch

I found the clues fairly tough, and it took me way too long to finish.
But a good puzzle, so thanks to Wan.
I suspect that I'm addicted to a bit of highlighting, and feel irrationally disappointed when there is none!

I love a good challenge and the clues were certainly challenging but the finish left me unsatisfied - obviously I'm a highlighting addict too. Still a couple of wordplays I have no idea about - in particular 4d.

I found that really tough and indeed needed quite a bit of help in the end, so no submission for me. Something of an anticlimax too as the remaining 12 words appear to have no thematic connection. Never mind - the clues themselves were well-composed and I particularly enjoyed 8d.

Yes, got there eventually; 4D was definitely our favourite clue.

Finally figured out the wordplay to 4d..... I felt compelled to keep trying with it being voted the favourite clue. After a huge groan I grudgingly concede it's clever but a tad too convoluted for me.

Certainly on the tough side. To me it was better (and harder probably) that the modifications were thematic in a less obvious way than topping and tailing which was my first thought. Thanks Wan

I, too, found this challenging, A full grid but still battling with the wordplay for 10a, 5d and 6d.
4d was almost the last one I got and I, also, enjoyed the wordplay for that one.

I am sorry to hear that some of you felt short-changed by not having anything to highlight. I did originally have an endgame for the puzzle and then decided it was better without – but I clearly got that wrong. I take your comments very seriously and will make sure that future puzzles do have an endgame.
