Notice To Give Work
7 Answers
I've been at my workplace for nearly 5 years, new owners took over a year ago and none of the staff have been given contracts even though we have bought the subject up a few times. We are being paid the national minimum wage through our banks & on time. I would like to know what period of notice would i need to give...........if any, to quit??

If you don't have a contract then that would be the next best thing, and it should say something about period of notice. If not, do you get paid weekly or monthly? If you really have no paperwork anywhere, then the time period from one pay day to the next would surely suffice.
I think it is the period you are paid unless otherwise stated
so if you are paid weekly then it is a week
and monthly then a month - clear month that is.

An employer must give employees a ‘written statement of employment particulars’ if their employment contract lasts at least a month or more. This isn’t an employment contract but will include the main conditions of employment.
The employer must provide the written statement within 2 months of the start of employment.
