If I declared myself bankrupt would this prevent me being able to emigrate to Australia? I can't seem to find any thing that addresses the subject on any immigrtaion websites.

Hi Lauratee
It would make things very difficult for you. Have you checked if you are eligible to emigrate to Australia they are now very strict on the type of skill sets they want to bring in to the country. Please do not believe anyone who advises that bankruptcy is an easy option to escape from debt or business problems. I used to work for a company that pursued debtors & bankrupts and they do not give up! I would strongly recommend you seek the advise of solicitor, most will offer a first free visit consultation.
Good luck

Hi lauratee

I am also looking for this answer? I plan to travel in 2 years, but I have too much debt to clear, so have thought of bacnkruptcy. I am also trying to check which countries you can get into, but may have trouble getting out of. Let me know if you find an answer. FOXYX
