A little matter of an 'oil for food programme' with a certain middle east country and certain payments in to certain bank accounts and certain people denying it and certain people perhaps lying about it.

He's facing an inquiry by a House Of Commons committee for not declaring the payments the Telegraph allege he received - though that allegation, which is the one gary baldy refers to, is what cost the Telegraph �150,000.

The key word is 'perhaps'. If there was any evidence (real or at least a passable facimile) to convict and remove Galloway from office, the powers that be who find Galloway a troublesome anti-war irritant would have used it by now.

Despite so many of his statements and critisisms being proved to be accurate and valid (even by the doubters in hindsight), nothing to date has been 'proved'!

However, it is almost irrelevent now as mud sticks, and the press (briefed by Labour party officials) have successfully convinced the majority of the British public into ridiculing one of the last (albeit unpopular) critical voices in Parliament.

A successful result, as long as we are all happy that no one in the future should be allowed to question or be critical of Government policy.
