How Long Do You Normally Wait For A Reply For A Job

what kind of job and what did they say at interview? These days many firms say if you haven't heard from us by xxx then you haven't got it.

it was for a job in a distillary/checking and testing whisky(he is a mad scientist) he is sending them an e-mail.

So has he had an interview? - in which case an e-mail or phone call is a good idea - or is he waiting to hear if he's got one? If the latter when was the closing date? They won't reply until the ad's closed and they have sifted the applicants.

Let us know how he gets on. I would be interested in applying for this job - despite having no scientific skills or qualifications whatsoever.

Ummmm, OMG. I never even knew such a job existed!! Well, obviously I know someone has to taste the wine, but I've never really thought about it much.
Wonder if I could do a job share for two posts... wine tasting and cheese tasting? lol

You'll find most company's will not contact you unless he has been successful.

Saves them bothering to be cared about you.

Email them for reply, saves on a stamp !

I went for an interview last week and I'm still waiting to hear, (local authority! doubt they're in any rush), in all likelihood I wasn't successful but it'd be nice to know sooner rather than later.
