If you want to actually learn from scratch I would recommend just two lessons from a tutor and practice hard. You should be able to get a studenty type willing to do it for around a tenner an hour. Money well spent.
Hey samm
When I taught myself guitar I bought a few books of chords and bands that I liked, so when I practised, I was practising tracks I desperately wanted to learn - that really helped with the motivation. Getting me through the pain in my fingers! At first you'll be slow and awkward but persevere, and depending on how much you practice - within a couple of months you'll be quite competent with certain chords and get more adventurous. Once you've mastered a few chord changes use those same chords in practising your plucking to get different sounds and moods. You can read on various plucking styles and rhythms on web-sites. Stick in there, it's rewarding in the end! All the best
