Only had the dog for 7 years, why has it taken him so long to realise this?

They certainly do Alba .He was a lovely dog ,so loyal and I miss him still .
He lives in a casket in the front room these days and I always say goodnight to him .

I've known for a while that in my family's eyes I come after them and the cats!
The cats are seen to first. Then themselves and I am the afterthought.
