the picture with the man coming out wearing a baseball hat has a stars and stripes.

the picture with the man holding a camera, has a puerto rican flag.

no wanting to sound all conspiracy theory, but why would they change the flag in the photo

There are also reports that, apart from the 6yo being Amanda Berry's child, there were also several other births during the 10 years so threats against the kids might have been used as leverage - but that is just supposition.

If you are right or wrong, neither is particularly pleasant. Either three women have gone through hell for ten years... or three women have lied and are trying to ruin their former lovers. I don't particularly want either to be true.

There is nothing 'funny' about this story.

Two of these women were young teens when they were kidnapped, the basement had chains and television with cable TV access, this is where all 3 women and the 6 year old daughter of one of them (conceived and born whilst captive) were kept.

I wasn't aware of this latest news about chains, etc.....where did it come from please ? The BBC perhaps ?

It isn't latest news, it was a statement on all the news programmes this morning, the statement was made by one of the officers who attended the scene.

Stockholm syndrome springs to mind as well as threats to children/fellow captives. I really think that until any of us have been it thais situation it may be better to wait and see what evolves from this story.

Why they changed the flag? For the same reason as we call few people British when they win in Olympic or any other even and we call few people immigrants and associate them to a country where probably their grandparents were born if they do something bad.

So American are trying to say that these people were not American but Puerto Ricans, because Americans don’t do things like that.

As for the incident, it is horrendous and appalling. I hope these people would be made an example so the others don’t do anything like that. But I do have my doubts.

Was there no time at all in the previous 10 years that they could have screamed for help??

Who knows Smow, perhaps they feared for the life of the child, maybe they were drugged or maybe they weren't left on their own for too long. It'll all come out soon enough.

So they were kept in a locked basement, making it unlikely that they would have been heard outside.

i watched a documentary only a few months ago about 2 girls that had been kept in a stone bunker in a garden, they were german i think, they had been there years and both had given birth . very similar story as this one.
