I have had a quick look and can't find this clip posted. This is the guy who helped to save the three young women that had been kidnapped in the US

He seems like a nice bloke - in the right place at the right time.

Reminds of the not that long ago story of the girl/woman trapped in the cellar.....
How on earth do you survive that and then get over it, Wolf.
This must give such hope for people all over the world with missing relatives. Never give up.

I don't think that the girls will have a normal life after going through this ordeal. The street the house was in looks pretty normal and it seems that the guy was normal looking too.

This guy will also find himself the centre of attention for a while - I hope that he can cope with this. He is a natural comic and might get a new job in stand up comedy.

I can't imagine how it must feel to have someone that you love go missing. I used to read the "Missing" ads in the Big Issue - sad! This is one area that the Salvation Army does excellent work.
We (me and himself) were talking about the number of people who go missing in the UK every year - the figure is 327,000 for 2010/2011 (but the information doesn't say how many of them stay missing). http://www.missingpersons.police.uk/en/pressroom/information-on-the-number-of-people-who-go-missing
All I think is the Roses in Gloucester, that loon in Austria and also the one in California - there's got to be some major psychological damage going on to hold captives this length of time......brrrrrrrrr
The Roses? Don't you mean Fred and Rose West?
'Seems like a nice bloke-in the right place etc'. He's lived next door for years and never noticed anything. !!!
Not difficult though, if people keep themselves to themselves..... Can't be that incredible, it's happened!

The guy moved in about a year ago - how was he to know what was going on inside the house. He is not a hero (although no doubt the media will call him one) but he seems to be genuine and I wish him well.

Missing persons - it must be terrible to live knowing that a loved one is out there dead, hiding or just living a new life. Being held captive for all those years will scar all the families involved.
"I knew something was wrong when a pretty little white runs into a black man's arms".

Literally sounds like something from a stand up routine.

But he makes a serious point. Abductors/murderers/rapists etc, don't look like monsters. They do not display outward signs. This is how serial killers get away with it for so long...because they are able to present one face to the world which is completely different from their face 'indoors'.
They don't look monsters. Monsters never look like monsters which is how they become them. I loive the guy who rescued them, he's awesome.
It's nice to see also however that there does seem to be hope that these girls and their child/ children can go on to a more normal life. Elisabeth Fritzl seems to be doing very well for herself now and I'm so happy for her.

I cant even begin to imagine what those girls must have been through. It is unimaginable the relief they are now feeling. Good luck to them all!!
The events now emerging are reminiscent of the baby B story where the authorities failed yet again to follow up on reports from neighbours.
Baby P, his name was Peter.
Does that remark about a white woman running into the arms of a black man not say something about the society in which this happened? It seems that racism is pretty much endemic.
