Dandelions On Lawn

Whats the best weed killer to get rid of the weeds and dandelions on my lawn please?

I use Verdone once a year on my lawn, don't know if it's the best, but I've certainly got a weed free lawn, despite the fact that my house is surrounded by fields full of Dandelions.

A tablepoon of cooking salt in the centre of the leaves and pour some boiling water over it.

Having said that, if one does appear, I quickly dig it out using a knife to remove the root.

We keep a lot of ours at bay, by picking the flower head the minute we spot them. We just use a trowel and nothing else when we decide to dig them up.

I endorse Heathfield's suggestion about salt. I can't remember where I read it but I used to do it although i didn't use boiling water. I think it's probably better to dig them out completely though- roots and all
