just had some new doors fitted, anyone have any idea approx how much it costs to have a door painted?

I should think that would be very inexpensive. I would think you might find somebody who would do this for the price of materials and an hour's wage.

Well I've had a phone quote of �40 for each door, which is more than I paid for the doors!! Maybe the professionals don't want to bother with that sort of job so they price it out of range.

Can't you do it yourself? It's not difficult and shouldn't take very long.

I do all the decorating myself actually, perhaps I just wanted a quote so that Mr Puzz would realise how valuable I am! There's quite a lot of doors, I just thought it would be nice to get them all done at once, if I do them it'll take a while, that's all.

As a professional decorator, with my own business, I would be charging around �15-�20 per side, depending on flush/panels. This would be for knotting/priming/undercoating & gloss. Make sure you get what you pay for though... make them sand between coats!
