Is there anyway to tell that an app will be suitable for use in the UK prior to buying?

A lot of review complaints come from those outside US etc stating that though the app is good, it's not much use in the UK due to various differences, but not all apps have got reviews?

I suppose it depends on the app. I've got a few that have random funny things off the net, most being from the us so while they aren't always relevant most of the time it doesn't matter.

I can't think of any I have that are only uk specific actually.
