My daughter had a gift last Christmas of a type of steamer iron called strijkborstel (I think it is Dutch). She saw it advertised on the Internet in English. We have only just opened it to find that every word is in Dutch or possibly German (bugelburste). The problem is that it has a two pin plug welded onto it and I don't know if it is safe to use with a two pin adapter. Also could I cut off the plug and replace it with a three pin? In which case what size fuse should I use? She no longer has any documentation about where it was bought from.

Is it this?

Yes you can cut the plug off and put a three pin plug on it (there will probably only be two wires as it's probably a class2 item and doesn't need an earth)

And a 5amp fuse will be OK.

Thank you very much.
Yes, it is Dutch. The instructions are in -guess what - double Dutch.
But aren't they all?
