Is it any safer or more dangerouos now than it used to be, and what are the 'survival tips' for travellers?

depends on what you call safe,it depends on what part you visit,lots of places are fine,we have been a couple of times,dodging the rockets and buses,suicide bombers like buses,avoid places with a lot of people around and you should be ok.

i have just come back from israel (about 3 weeks ago)..
and it was safe,,, just avoid the area's were their is trouble,, ie do not go to ramala or to gaza (unless u know people their)...
also u do need to b carefull in jerusalem,,
u will love it out their
