Does anyone know how dangerous a thrombosis could be for someone who has already had a stroke at a fairly young age?

Not enough information.
Stroke at a fairly early age....what age?
I presume this person has had another stroke...how old?

Hi Sqad. Early fifties now, stroke 10 years or so ago, to.me that seems young anyway.

No further stroke (not known of anyway), just the thrombosis.

Test results hopefully back soon.

It was one I mentioned a few weeks back, not my relative, still waiting on results for them too.
Eve....these are general figures and is stated in the multiples of 5.....
5-15% will have a second stroke within 1 year.

50% will have a second stroke by 5 years.

This will depend upon age and these are just rounded off statistics......your body may not necessarily agree with these figures......;-)

Thanks Sqad, wow, so once it's got you once then eh!

Well, some news in that it apparently now may not be a thrombosis some something blood related which can be quite dangerous, I haven't a clue and my friend can't remember what they called it. Waiting on a scan appointment now.
Eve...interested........keep me informed.

Will do, seem to be getting somewhere now (reluctant patient = very worried friend) but at least GP has been seen and tests done to kickstart things.
