Did you pay them to advertise your car?
The "ownership doc" is called the Registration Certificate.
Go to.........http://www.dvla.gov.uk/..........to find out what you need to do with your Registration certificate it can be quite complicated, You should ask them forthe booklet Guidence notes or download the guidence notes from their site..
As longs there's no outstanding finance on the car, there's no legal requirement to deal with any forms other than the V5C registration document. (Just follow the instructions on the form).
However, it's always a good idea to prepare two copies of a 'bill of sale'. This is simply a document which states that, in exchange for X, ownership of the vehicle has passed from you to the buyer. Give one copy to the buyer (as a receipt) and keep the other for your own reference. Make sure though, that the documents are signed by both yourself and the buyer and that the TIME, as well as the date, of the sale is shown. Then when the buyer goes past a speed camera, at 100mph, on his way home, he won't be able to claim that he didn't buy the vehicle from you until later in the day!
