Places In British Isles

Have googled till I am 'blue in the face', can anyone suggest a site please that gives British place names that include a name of a tree? I found a site that does for America! (not a lot of good to me though, Lol)

Don't know of any that specifically give names that include a tree but there is the Gazetteer of British Place names which lists them all.

Thank-you knittynora but I need to know which tree I am looking for to put into the Gazateer. (I do have that site). It is great if you know one word that is needed.

yes quinnie I am doing the Buxton Quiz, but I am not requiring answers from any-one just somewhere else to research for myself. Thank - you to all who have joined in responses. I am wading through one of the sites offered, (it is very very long !!!!!)

Yes I agree Quinnie, but as usual, I get down to one I cannot find no matter what I google, and in this case I was swamped with information but not the bit I wanted! Oh well, good on the setter!. There is so much information on Google that just one word will bring up totally different answers.!.

I agree some are a bit tricky.The setter has said help can be asked for nearer the closing date. I'm sure if you haven't finished by that time you'll get plenty of help . Good luck!
