Spare Car Tyre - How Do I Know If It Will Fit On Other Cars?
i have an old car tyre from a peugeot 405.
its in great condition, but doesn't fit on my passat - the guy said it was too big
is there a way i can tell if it will fit on my folks laguna, estate?
thanks

VW, Audi, Rover and Vauxhall wheels are often the same as long as they are 4 stud. I doubt a Peugeot wheel will fit a Passat.
Be careful with tyres for an estate, they are often different due to the weight carrying ability. (reinforced or 'extra load').
Check the sidewalls for splitting/cracking. If it is an old tyre it might be best to just bin it.

assuming it's a tyre without a wheel then the stud pattern is irrelevant. Just take a not of the size, it's be something like 225/45/R18. then it will fit an 18 inch wheel. Check the same marks on Laguna and make sure they are the same. The 18 may be preceeded by ZR or R or possibly another letter. Pretty well all cars have a variety of wheel/tyre combinations that will give the correct rolling circumference so you have to look at a specific car to see.
